Prolouge - Bliss
I looked out over the choppy ocean of screaming girls. Smelling their sweat, I watched them dance to the opening chords of 'That's Just The Way We Roll'.
"Sing it brother!" I yelled into my mic.
"I woke up, on my roof, with my brothers." My second-eldest brother Joe started the song.
"And sister!" I chimed in. "There's a whale, in the pool, with my mother."
"And my dad, paints the house, different colors!" Nick continued, still rockin' on his green electric guitar.
Kevin joined in and the four of us sang the magic screaming-girl words, "Where would we be, if we couldn't dream!?"
Joe and Nick launched into the chorus of the song, and I danced and watched the mass of screaming, dancing, singing, and generally just freaking out girls. I actually saw more than a few boys in the audience this concert.
My three brothers, Kevin, the oldest at 21, AKA K2, Joe, the 'hottest' brother according to most girls, AKA DJ Danger, 19, and Nick, the middle sibling at 16, 'Mr. President', and I had started the band when I was around 9 years old. Nick had taught me to sing and play guitar when he was 13, and we flew to the top from there as Jinx Jonas, the four-sibling pop/rock band. We used our initials- J, N, K, and S, for our name- Jinx, and our last name, Jonas. Jinx Jonas. Joe thought of it. With Kevin on guitar, Nick and I on both piano, vocals and guitar, and Joe doing vocals, we rocked, if I do say so myself.
"SAM! SING!" I heard Nick scream at me. Joe's part in the song had ended and it was time for my solo. As Nick and Kevin halted their strumming, Joe got the audience clapping and swaying to the beat, while Jack started on the bass pedal. I sang-
"And I know, we get a little crazy. And I know, we get a little loud! And I know, we're never gonna fake it. We are wild! We are free! We are more than you think! So call us freaks, but that's just the way we-"
I finished as Nick and Joe blended their voices with mine, starting the chorus over again.
This is bliss.
